South Africa beat world record in 4x100m

South Africa break the 4x100m world record after Oscar Pistorius brought the baton home.

An Oscar Pistorius-armed South Africa have broken the world record on the way to gold in the T42/46 4x100m relay.

Pistorius carried the baton home for South Africa and this time managed to hold off Alan Oliveira, who crossed the line second for the Brazilians.

South Africa's new world record is now set at 41.78s, but Brazil were disqualified after the result, so silver went to China with 42.98s.

Bronze went to the German team, who were a few seconds back with 45.23s.
