Libby Clegg hails Hampden Park atmosphere after taking gold

Scotland's Libby Clegg hails the Hampden Park atmosphere after taking gold in the Para-sport 100m final alongside guide runner Mikhail Huggins.

Scotland's Libby Clegg has taken gold alongside her guide runner Mikhail Huggins in the Para-sport 100m final.

The pair finished way ahead of the pack with a time of 12.20s and soaked up the applause at Hamden Park with an extended lap of honour, which lasted around 45 minutes.

She told BBC Sport: "It's been absolutely fantastic to compete here, we won and we're happy. It's been amazing in here tonight and the crowd have been brilliant.

"We've had some much support along the way, all our fans watching, it's been brilliant, just amazing.

"I didn't really feel the pressure too much, but it is a bit daunting when everyone expects you to win and the pressure [is there]."

Huggins was also full of praise for the crowd, and he talked up the "amazing" atmosphere inside the stadium after fulfilling their pre-race billing as favourites.

"London [2012] was an experience in itself," Huggins added. "This was totally different, and with Libby as a Scot, it was amazing out there. We can't thank [the crowd] enough.

"On this type of platform, you have to come out and deliver. It's good for Paralympic sport, and great for sport in general. We are all smiles."
