Greg Rutherford "desperate" to match Olympic success

Team England long jumper Greg Rutherford reveals that he is determined to match his success of the 2012 Olympics at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Team England long jumper Greg Rutherford has admitted that he is "desperate" to match his success at the Olympics when he gets his Commonwealth Games campaign underway.

Rutherford won a gold medal for Team GB during London 2012 as he produced a jump of 8.31 metres, and now he is determined to follow up that success in Scotland.

He told reporters: "I see it as a hugely important stepping stone and especially when it's in this country. We don't get many opportunities to compete in Great Britain, so this is a great opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd.

"I'm desperate to taste that success again. I've won one major championships in my career, and that's not enough in my opinion."

The 27-year-old gets his Glasgow campaign underway next week.
