Robert Griffin III has said that he is "confident" of being ready to play in the opening game of the 2013 NFL season.
The Washington Redskins quarterback has not played during the pre-season as he continues to recover from knee ligament surgery.
The 2012 offensive rookie of the year told reporters: "I feel good. I am confident. Coach [Mike Shanahan] easing me in has helped, and then giving me the extra reps has also helped now. This week's the time to get prepared. My eyes are set on Philly and watching this team develop.
"The leg looks good, looks strong, movement looks fine. I'm happy about that. I've done everything I can. Like I said, can't say it enough times, this is all I can do and I have to leave it in their hands to go from here.
"I don't need the pre-season to get ready because they're not going to let me play in the pre-season. If I think I won't play well without the pre-season, then I'm not going to go out there and play well."
The Redskins play the Philadelphia Eagles in week one.
