An MRI scan has revealed that Kirk Cousins has avoided ligament damage in his right foot.
The Washington Redskins quarterback left the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last night with a foot injury.
However, NFL.com has since reported that the 25-year-old will need just one to two weeks to recover from the mid-foot sprain after a scan showed no ligament damage.
Cousins has been the Redskins' starter this pre-season while Robert Griffin III continues his recovery from knee ligament surgery earlier this year.
Third-string QB Rex Grossman is expected to take the majority of the snaps for the team's remaining two pre-season games.
