The NFL have reduced Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather's suspension for illegal hits from two games to one.
Meriweather was initially handed a two-match ban by the league after being flagged twice for personal fouls during his side's 45-41 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
However, the 29-year-old appealed the decision and, following a hearing this afternoon, has had the suspension reduced to one game without pay.
The decision means that Meriweather will still miss this Sunday's match against the Denver Broncos but will be back in time to face the San Diego Chargers on November 3.
Meriweather has already been punished by the NFL this season having received a $42,000 (£26,000) fine for two hits in their week two loss to the Green Bay Packers.
