JJ Watt: 'Houston Texans need to stop the run'

Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt believes that the team need to work on stopping their opponents from running the ball.

JJ Watt has said that the Houston Texans need to work on stopping the run game after their bye week.

The AFC South side, who do not play this weekend, have allowed 855 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns so far this season.

The defensive end, who was last year's defensive player of the year, told reporters: "I think we need to continue to get takeaways on defense. Obviously, we did a decent job of getting that back on track in the second half of the game on Sunday.

"We need to stop the run. I think first and foremost, you need to stop the run and put teams in passing situations and get after the passer. Takeaways are going to be huge momentum gainers and they're going to be a big reason for your success.

"Obviously, you get a bye week and your body definitely can use it any time you can get it. I'm going to take it, get the body ready, get the body right and ready to roll for the second half of the season. Take advantage of what you're given."

The Texans sit third in their division, having lost their last five games in a row.
