DeSean Jackson still upset at Philadelphia Eagles release

DeSean Jackson claims that the Philadelphia Eagles "tried to paint a picture" about him when they released him last year.

Washington Redskins running back DeSean Jackson has hit out at the Philadelphia Eagles for the way they treated him last year.

The 28-year-old scored nine touchdowns in the 2013 season, but he was released at the end of the campaign and subsequently joined the Redskins.

Jackson told ESPN: "When I was released by the Eagles, I feel they tried to paint a picture that definitely wasn't true. It was a slap in the face, coming off one of my best seasons in the NFL.

"The Eagles tried to blow me up. That's cold how they did it. That's why I think they fired me. Have I went to jail? I ain't done none of that."

Some reports suggested that Jackson was released because of his alleged connections to gangs.
