Washington Redskins defensive tackle Terrance Knighton believes that he was the "steal" of free agency.
The 28-year-old was allowed to leave the Denver Broncos at the end of the 2014 season to test the free-agent market, and signed a one-year deal worth $4m (£2.5m) with the NFC East side.
Knighton feels that the Redskins will get excellent value for money from the deal, and is determined to show his worth in the 2015 campaign.
"Yeah, I was [the biggest steal]," Knighton told SI.com. "But I've always bet on myself.
"I consider myself a premier player in this league, and I've got a lot of football left. This will be my seventh season, so when I hit the table again, there won't be any excuses next time."
Knighton has recorded 201 tackles, 12.5 sacks and two interceptions in his six-year NFL career.
