Dr James Andrews has "no concerns" over Robert Griffin III

Dr. James Andrews insists that he is not worried over the state of Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III's knee following off-season surgery.

Dr James Andrews has insisted that he has "no concerns" over the fitness of Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan revealed that the 23-year-old had been cleared to play by Andrews following his recovery from knee surgery in the off-season.

However, Shanahan admitted that Andrews said has he doubts over whether Griffin was returning to action too soon.

Andrews told The Washington Post: "None of it is true. No concerns."

Washington open their regular season campaign on September 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
