Delanie Walker happy with Jake Locker return

Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker describes quarterback Jake Locker as a "fighter" and a "leader" following his return from injury.

Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker has described quarterback Jake Locker as a "fighter" and a "leader" following his return to first-team training.

Locker practised with his teammates today for the first time since suffering a season-ending foot injury in November, coming through the session unscathed.

Walker acknowledged that it was important for the team's starting quarterback to be involved in training again and believes that he can help the team compete next season.

"It's always good to see your starting quarterback out there," Walker told reporters.

"He's a fighter. He's going to compete. He's a leader. I don't look at him when I am running routes. But when the balls look good I'm pretty sure he looks good in his drops."

Locker has been with the Titans for three seasons, having been chosen with the eighth overall pick in the 2011 Draft.
