The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly in the process of signing former Chicago Bears star Henry Melton on a one-year deal.
The veteran lineman played three seasons for coach Lovie Smith in Chicago, starting 29 games and recording 15.5 sacks in his system.
However, he tore his ACL in 2013 three games into the season, and spent the end of last season on the sidelines too after suffering a bone bruise to his knee.
The 28-year-old is understood to be set to sign a one-year deal which is designed to ensure that he proves he is capable of staying healthy before signing a long-term contract.
It is the latest addition to the roster from Smith with ties to Chicago, after the Bucs also reportedly moved to sign Chris Conte.
