Rookie running back Matt Jones ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns as the Washington Redskins beat the St Louis Rams 24-10 at FedEx Field.
Washington took the lead with Jones scoring his first touchdown with the team after breaking away for a 39-yard score.
Kicker Dustin Hopkins added three points to that lead later in the half before quarterback Kirk Cousins found Pierre Garcon for a four-yard touchdown that gave the Redskins a 17-0 lead at the break.
The Rams would try to get themselves back into the game after the break, ending their first drive with a field goal before Nick Foles threw down the field to find Kenny Britt for a 30-yard score to bring St Louis back to within a touchdown.
However, Jones would find the endzone one more time in the final three minutes of the game to seal the Redskins' first win of the season while the Rams fall to 1-1.
