Pete Carroll vows Seattle Seahawks will respond in 2015

The Seattle Seahawks will use their 2015 Super Bowl defeat as fuel for their assault on the championship this year, says coach Pete Carroll.

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has admitted that he is still is yet to get over their Super Bowl defeat last season, but warns it will fuel the squad this year.

The 2014 champions lost to the New England Patriots earlier this year after Russell Wilson's throw was intercepted in the last minute.

When asked how it felt to lose, Carroll told Sports Illustrated: "You'll never know. I can't make you understand. You pour everything and - it goes right, it goes wrong - it's in you. It becomes part of you.

"I'm not going to ignore it. I'm going to face it. And when it bubbles up, I'm going to think about it and get on with it. And use it."

The Seahawks start the season away at the St Louis Rams.
