Heath Farwell hails 'passionate' Pete Carroll

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Heath Farwell praises Pete Carroll's coaching style.

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Heath Farwell has heaped praise on Pete Carroll's coaching style ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos.

Carroll has won plaudits for his approach to coaching this season and was recently named by an online poll as the man most people would want to play for.

Farwell revealed that the 62-year-old took a different approach to most head coaches, viewing any mistake as a learning opportunity, but he refuted the allegation that Carroll's perceived soft nature made the team any less dedicated.

"If you make a mistake, he uses that as a teachable moment. Pete explains what you did wrong and how you can correct," Farwell told reporters.

"If you do something wrong, he will say that's not acceptable by the organization and explain why. We all make mistakes, but with Pete, it's about learning from it. He's not a talk-down-to-you or yell-at-you kind of coach.

"We practice hard on every play and we work as hard as any team, or harder. But it's a fun team to play on because Pete's always so positive. He's the biggest cheerleader on the sidelines. He coaches with passion, and that's why guys play hard for him."

The Seahawks will be looking for their first ever Super Bowl success at the MetLife Stadium this weekend.
