Tony Dungy defends Bobby Wagner MVP vote

Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy defends his decision to vote for Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner as the MVP of the NFL for the 2014 season.

Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy has explained his reasoning for using his vote for MVP on Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the MVP of the NFL for the second time in his career due to his outstanding regular season for the NFC North side.

Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt was also a major candidate for the award after a dominating season for Bill O'Brien's men.

However, one of the most surprising aspects to come out of the voting process was the one vote given to Wagner, who played 11 games for the Seahawks in the regular season, although he was a vital part in guiding his team to the Super Bowl.

Dungy said on Twitter: "For people questioning my MVP vote for Bobby Wagner-it's called most VALUABLE. He & Gronk were biggest difference makers on two best teams."

Wagner recorded 104 tackles and two sacks for the Seahawks in the 2014 regular season.
