Aaron Rodgers: 'God doesn't care about football games'

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers doubts that God "cares" about what happens during a game of football.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has suggested that God is not bothered by the outcome of football matches, following his team's loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Rodgers's men lost a late lead to two Seahawks touchdowns in the final few minutes, before the reigning champions sealed their place in the Super Bowl in overtime.

Seahawks signal caller Russell Wilson thanked the influence of God after the win, but his Packers opposite number disagrees.

Speaking with a radio show on ESPN, Rodgers said after a question on the subject: "No, I don't think God cares a whole lot about the outcome of a football game.

"Yes, he cares about the people involved, but I don't think he's a big football fan."

Rodgers did not respond to Wilson's on-field quotes directly, in which he said that God had "set up" the victory for his team.
