Reggie Bush agrees deal with San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers agree a deal to sign free agent running back Reggie Bush following his release by the Detroit Lions.

The San Francisco 49ers have signed free agent running back Reggie Bush.

The 30-year-old was released by the Detroit Lions for salary cap reasons last month, after two seasons with the club.

Several teams were interested in signing Bush, including the New England Patriots, the New Orleans Saints and the 49ers.

However, Jim Tomsula's men were able to lure Bush to the Bay Area to play in the state where he had a great success in his college days during his tenure with the USC Trojans.

The running back recorded 550 total yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns for the Lions last season.
