San Francisco 49ers move on from Jim Harbaugh

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke insists that the franchise has moved on from the Jim Harbaugh era.

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has insisted that the franchise has moved on from former coach Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh revealed last week that his split with the franchise was anything but amicable, but Baalke was keen to avoid discussing the matter further.

"We've moved on. He's got a heck of a job [at Michigan]. We've got a new head football coach. We're trying to get ready for the draft, free agency and the off-season program," he told the media, ESPN reports.

"Jim did a heck of a job. He's a heck of a coach. I think, once again, he's gone his direction, we've gone ours. I feel very good about the direction we're headed and I'm sure he does as well."

The 49ers are keen to move on as a group and have since appointed new head coach Jim Tomsula, who is the 19th coach in franchise history after being promoted from defensive line coach.
