The San Diego Chargers have exercised the option on Melvin Ingram's contract for the 2016 season, according to a report.
The 25-year-old was selected in the first round of the 2012 Draft by the Chargers, but injuries have limited his impact on the field for Mike McCoy's men.
Ingram showed promise towards the end of the 2014 campaign, which has prompted the Chargers to use the option to extend his contract into a fifth season for a fee of $7.7m (£5.2m), reports NFL Network.
The linebacker has recorded 78 tackles and six sacks in his three years in the NFL.
