LaDainian Tomlinson: I "regret" Bill Belichick comment

Former San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson regrets saying that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had "no class".

Former San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has admitted that he regrets stating that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had "no class".

The 34-year-old made the comments following his side's 24-21 loss to the Patriots in their 2006 AFC Divisional Round playoff clash, where the Pats celebrated in the middle of Qualcomm Stadium.

Tomlinson wrote on Twitter: "I believe we all say things we regret. I certainly regret when I said the Patriots classless act came from their head coach.

"I should of kept it between the players. Bill Belichick had nothing to do with it."

Tomlinson retired last year following an 11-year career in the NFL with the Chargers and the New York Jets.
