The New York Jets have bolstered their options at the quarterback position after it was announced that they have signed Josh Johnson.
Johnson was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, and went through a work-out with the Jets on Thursday.
"We are just kicking the tires around in case somebody else gets hurt. Just taking a look at quarterbacks," coach Todd Bowles told reporters.
First choice signal-caller Geno Smith will miss the first four games of the season due to a broken jaw, with Ryan Fitzpatrick expected to start in his absence.
