After a scoreless first quarter, the Dolphins finally broke the deadlock early in the second when Ryan Tannehill looped a five-yard pass over to Mike Wallace in the endzone.

The Jets responded with 3:24 left of the half when Sheldon Richardson burst through the middle of the defence from a yard out for his side's first score of the game.

The visitors then ensured that they would go into the break ahead as Smith bundled his way into the endzone from seven yards out, eluding a number of tackles on the way.
