Terrell Thomas believes that New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin may retire after the 2013 NFL season.

Terrell Thomas believes that New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will remain in charge of the team for one more season.

The 66-year-old has been in charge of the Giants since 2004, winning two Super Bowls during his tenure.

The Giants cornerback told NFL AM: "I thought it was this season, but I think he has one more in him. We have a great nucleus of guys and I don't think he wants to give that up.

"That passion is still burning in him. He has everybody in there all day every day in the off-season. So I think he wants to go out on top. Hopefully we can get it right and bring a Super Bowl home in Giants Stadium."

However, Giants owner John Mara told NFL.com: "I don't see him going to Florida to play shuffleboard anytime soon. I think he's still got a lot of fire left in him and he's still a great coach. Hopefully he's going to be around for many more years."

The Giants failed to make the post-season in 2012, finishing second in the NFC East.
