Eli Manning denies highest-paid player report

New York Giants star Eli Manning denies requesting to become the highest-paid player in the NFL.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has dismissed the report suggesting that he has asked to become the highest-paid player in the NFL.

An NFL Network report claimed that the veteran signal-caller had told the Giants that he wanted a contract that would ensure he held the title.

"The reports are all wrong," Manning told reporters.

"That's never been said, it's never come out of my mouth, I've never said it to my agent, I don't know where people are getting their information."

Manning is entering the final year of his contract, and has yet to reach an extension with the organisation.
