New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham has insisted that he didn't push off on the final play of regulation in his side's overtime defeat to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Saints had the chance to win the game on the final play of normal time when Drew Brees threw the ball deep to the endzone for Graham, who caught the ball for the apparent score.
However, the effort was chalked off by the officials for offensive pass interference as the tight end appeared to push-off against 49ers cornerback Perrish Cox.
"It was definitely not a push-off," Graham told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "I'm running down the field telling myself, 'Whatever you do, don't push off.'
"It's interesting how guys grab me everywhere on the field and I put literally two fingers on somebody and they make that kind of call."
The Saints lost the game in overtime when Brees fumbled the ball inside his own 20-yard line, which allowed Phil Dawson to kick the 49ers to their fifth win of the season.
