Drew Brees never concerned by trade talk

Drew Brees insists that the New Orleans Saints would have come to him first if he was going to be traded.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has insisted that he was never concerned amid speculation that he could be traded by the franchise.

Brees was adamant that the Saints would have come to him first if they had intentions of letting him go, with former teammate Jimmy Graham's departure a shock for all.

"I would have people come and, 'So I hear you're getting traded to Tampa,'" Brees said, according to ESPN.

"Oh, OK, great. And then the next week, it's like, OK, who is it this week? Buffalo? Or wherever else. So I lost track. But again, I know that if things like that were taking place that I have the type of relationship with our team, our organization, that I would know about those things."

Brees is currently contracted to stay with the Saints until 2017, although his cap numbers suggest that he could sign an extension to even out the money he makes across a longer deal.
