Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez has been found guilty of first-degree murder.
The 25-year-old was on trial for allegedly shooting dead Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of his fiancee, in June 2013 in Massachusetts.
Odin was found dead in an industrial estate with six bullet wounds, and Hernandez was arrested and charged shortly after the shooting.
He was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Hernandez claimed that he had witnessed the killing and that it was "committed by somebody he knew". His attorney, James Sultan, told the jury that it was carried out by two drug dealers.
Two of Hernandez's friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernst Wallace, were also charged and will be tried separately.
Meanwhile, the ex-tight end, who was said to be on £27.1m a year with the Patriots, will face two other murder charges later this year for a separate case in Boston.
Hernandez could face a penalty of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
