Michael Sam: 'I would be excited to join Miami Dolphins'

Former Missouri Tigers defensive end Michael Sam reveals that he would gladly join the Miami Dolphins if they select him in the 2014 Draft.

Former Missouri Tigers defensive end Michael Sam has revealed that he would be "excited" to join the Miami Dolphins if they drafted him, despite their locker room problems last season.

The Dolphins were embroiled in a bullying scandal as Richie Incognito, John Jerry and Mike Pouncey were accused in an NFL report of harassing teammate Jonathan Martin.

As a result of the scandal, Incognito was suspended, while the Dolphins also cut ties with offensive line coach Jim Turner along with trainer Kevin O'Neill.

Sam told reporters: "If the Miami Dolphins drafted me, I will be excited to be a part of that organisation, but I'm not thinking about going into that environment.

"I know how to handle myself. I know how to communicate with my teammates. I know how to communicate with the coaches and know the staff, whoever I need to communicate with."

Sam revealed that he was gay earlier this month, and he will be the first openly homosexual player to play in the NFL if he is drafted in May.
