Chicago Bears pick up first home win of the season

Brandon Marshall scores two touchdowns to help the Chicago Bears to their first home win of the season, beating the Minnesota Vikings 21-13 at Soldier Field.

The Chicago Bears have finally picked up their first home win of the season courtesy of a 21-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at a snowy Soldier Field today.

The visitors raced into the lead in the first quarter as Blair Walsh converted a 50-yard field goal on the opening drive before Rhett Ellison collected a short Teddy Bridgewater pass and crossed the line for a seven-yard score.

Chicago responded in the second quarter, however, with Alshon Jeffery getting his side on the board by catching Jay Cutler's 27-yard pass after the quarterback had done well to avoid a couple of tackles.

Cutler struck again towards the end of the first half, this time firing a 44-yard pass down the middle for Brandon Marshall in the endzone.

The hosts had a chance to extend their lead to seven in the third quarter, but they opted against the field goal and Cutler was stopped just short of the endzone.

They did cross over again in the fourth quarter, however, as Marshall picked up his second touchdown of the match by plucking a four-yard Cutler pass out of the air.

Walsh kept his side within striking distance with a 26-yard kick, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Bears from ending their three-match losing streak and moving level with the Vikings on 4-6 for the season.
