Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has insisted that Brandon Marshall's rant after Sunday's 27-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins didn't cross the line.
Speculation had suggested that Marshall had personally attacked some of his teammates, but Cutler dismissed the report and insists that the entire team was frustrated.
"He didn't come near me. He didn't say my name. I don't think he attacked anybody personally with what he was saying," Cutler said, ESPN reports.
"He's going to speak from the heart and make sure everyone around him hears him. It wasn't anything that caught us off guard, or was off-putting. It was frustration coming out and him letting us know it was important to him."
Cutler has committed 10 turnovers in seven games this season and thrown 82 interceptions and lost 20 fumbles since arriving in Chicago back in 2009.
