Christian Ponder has said that he hopes to meet with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Brett Favre in the offseason as he continues to learn to play in the NFL.

Ponder was drafted to replace Favre at the Minnesota Vikings in 2011, after the 11-time Pro Bowl pick retired.

Ponder told FoxSports.com: "We're going to bring that up and try to take advantage of that."

Coach Leslie Frazier added: "[Ponder is] still young and has a lot of growing to do, but his confidence is so much higher than it was before.

"His decision-making has really gotten better. His teammates really understand him now and he understands them a lot better. He's becoming what we all hoped he could be - a guy who can lead us to big things."

Favre spent the final two years of his career at Minnesota, leading the side to the NFC championship game in the 2009-2010 season.
