Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith is unhappy with Jared Allen's tackle on Lance Louis in Sunday's game.

Lovie Smith has said that Jared Allen's tackle on Lance Louis was unnecessary.

The Minnesota Vikings' defensive tackle brought down the Chicago Bears' guard in their game on Sunday, resulting in a torn anterior cruciate ligament for Louis.

The Bears coach told the Chicago Tribune: "I think our game could do without that play. We have an injured player right now based on it.

"I think you could have gotten him blocked a little bit differently. That's about all I should probably say about it.

"Jared Allen plays the game a certain way, good player in our league. But I think there are some plays when you look at them again, you say, 'Hey, we could have done without that.'"

The Bears won the game 28-10.
