Warren Sapp: 'Richie Incognito called me the 'n-word' once'

Warren Sapp says that Richie Incognito once used a racist word against him to try to "spark a reaction" while on the football field.

NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp has claimed that Richie Incognito once used a racial slur to try to entice him into retaliation during a match.

Incognito has been at the centre of harassment allegations made by Miami Dolphins teammate Jonathan Martin this week, leading to his suspension from the team.

Sapp told Fox Sports Radio: "One time Incognito kicked me in a game and called me the 'n word'. I asked if he wanted me to punch him so they kicked me out of the game. Then I just told him I'd smash his quarterback so they cut him from the team instead."

However, Sapp has claimed that Incognito simply said the word to spark a reaction from him rather than to be unnecessarily racist.

"I'm surprised because offensive lineman are like cattle and I've never seen them alienate one of their own," Sapp added. "You don't do it to your own teammate."

"I don't think Richie Incognito will ever play in the NFL again."
