The Kansas City Chiefs have released wide receiver Dwyane Bowe after eight years with the organisation.
Bowe is the second leading pass-catcher in franchise history, but will now be searching for a new team ahead of the new season.
"I want to thank the entire Chiefs organisation from the bottom of my heart," he wrote on Twitter.
"You believed in me and gave me my chance to play in the NFL. I will be forever grateful. KC Chiefs will forever be in my heart."
The 30-year-old was targeted for release due to a decline in production and his high salary against the cap.
Bowe hasn't caught more than 60 passes or had more than 801 yards in any of his past three seasons, and was held to a season without a single touchdown in 2014.
