Andy Reid: 'Game manager tag is tribute to Alex Smith'

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid feels that calling quarterback Alex Smith a game manager is a massive compliment.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid believes that calling quarterback Alex Smith a game manager is huge "tribute" to his ability.

Smith has been associated with that particular tag for his steady performances since arriving in the NFL in 2005.

"I think it's a tribute to him," Reid told ProFootballTalk.com. "I don't know one great quarterback that hasn't been a great game manager.

"So I think it's a heck of a compliment, and he does that, he's taken the youngest offensive line in the National Football League and helped them become better.

"One great thing about great quarterbacks is they make everyone around them a little better than what they are and he's able to do that, including the head coach."

The Chiefs are unbeaten this season as they are 9-0 after week nine.
