Five Kansas City Chiefs players sit out of practice

Chiefs coach Andy Reid says some of his injured players are making "good progress", despite five of them sitting out of Monday's practice session.

The Kansas City Chiefs had five starting players sit out of practice on Monday.

Knee problems for cornerback Brandon Flowers and fullback Anthony Sherman meant they did not participate, while safety Kendrick Lewis (ankle) and guard Jeff Allen (groin) were also missing.

The tight end pairing of Anthony Fasano (foot) and Travis Kelce (knee) were held out of practice too, although head coach Andy Reid told the Kansas City Star: "Both of them are making good progress".

Rookie linebacker Nico Johnson is still working his way back from a bad ankle sprain.
