Wade Phillips: 'Houston Texans should draft Johnny Manziel'

Former Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips believes that the team should draft former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel.

Wade Phillips has said that former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel would be a good fit for the Houston Texans.

The 66-year-old was fired from the defensive coordinator role with the AFC South side after failing to secure the team's head coaching vacancy.

Phillips told 610 SportsRadio: "When I did the interview with the [team's owners], I told them they ought to take Johnny Football.

"I just like the way he plays. I think he makes plays that nobody else can make."

The Texans will have the first pick in the 2014 Draft after finishing last season with the worst record in the league.
