Report: Romeo Crennel to join Houston Texans coaching staff

Former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel will reportedly become the Houston Texans' defensive coordinator.

Romeo Crennel has reportedly agreed to become the Houston Texans' new defensive coordinator.

The former Kansas City Chiefs head coach is committed to a college coaching role until later this month, but ESPN claims that he will accept an offer from the AFC South side after next weekend's East-West Shrine college all-star game.

The Texans parted company with previous defensive coordinator Wade Phillips after he failed to secure the head coach's post.

Houston finished the 2013 NFL season with the worst record in the league.
