Ted Thompson: 'Vince Young failure my fault'

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson claims that Vince Young's failure to make the cut on Saturday was his fault.

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson has claimed that quarterback Vince Young's failure to secure a roster spot for the upcoming season was his fault.

Young had only been with the Packers for a matter of weeks when he was released in the final roster cuts on Saturday, ending what many believed to be his best chance of restarting a floundering career.

However, Thompson believes that the 30-year-old is not to blame for being cut, instead claiming that he did not give Young enough time with the team.

"Frankly, it wasn't fair to Vince. We threw a lot at Vince. A lot on his plate. He was a good teammate. The fault is probably mine. Should have brought him in sooner. The fault is mine," Thompson told reporters.

The Packers will start their regular season at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
