The Green Bay Packers have released backup quarterback Vince Young as part of their roster cut down.
Young was signed to compete with BJ Coleman and Graham Harrell to back up Aaron Rodgers for the upcoming season.
He wrote on Twitter: "Thanks to the Packers for the opportunity, great organisation, great team, wonderful fans. Good luck this season."
The 30-year-old was drafted third overall by the Tennessee Titans in 2006.
