Report: James Jones returning to Green Bay Packers

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones is to make a return to the team, according to reports.

James Jones has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Green Bay Packers.

The 31-year-old spent his first seven seasons in the NFL at Lambeau Field before joining the Oakland Raiders in free agency for the 2014 campaign.

The wide receiver was picked up and then released by the New York Giants in their final cuts this off-season and, according to NFL Media reporter Ian Rapoport, will now be a replacement for the Packers' injured wideout Jordy Nelson.

The eight-year veteran visited the team on Sunday and told reporters that he was hopeful a deal could be reached.

He added: "That's the plan, man. I flew all the way over here, so hopefully something gets done. I'm excited man, it feels good to get back and be back home, so we'll see what happens."

Jones has scored 43 touchdowns in his career, including 14 in one season with Green Bay in 2012.
