Stephen Tulloch confident of Detroit Lions stay

Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch believes that he will still be with the club at the start of the 2015 season, despite his high salary.

Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch is confident that his high salary cap number will not prevent him from remaining with the club for the 2015 season.

The Lions have outlined their desire to keep All-Pro Ndamukong Suh, but would need to clear space on their cap to fit the 28-year-old under their budget.

Reports suggest that Tulloch could be cut by the club to save $3.2m (£2.1m) on the cap, but the player is optimistic that will not be the case.

"I hope I am [back with the Lions]. I hope my body of work speaks for itself," Tulloch told Sirius XM NFL Radio. "I've put a lot of work in this team and I've been there through it all.

"It's the first time in my career I've ever been on this side with the unknown, but I know the organisation will do what's best for them."

Tulloch played just three games for the Lions last season after tearing his ACL while celebrating a sack in his side's win over the Green Bay Packers.
