Jim Schwartz: 'Matthew Stafford mechanics fine'

Jim Schwartz says that Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford does not have problems throwing the football.

Jim Schwartz has said that the mechanics of Matthew Stafford's throw are fine.

The Detroit Lions quarterback has been criticised for using a sidearm throwing technique for much of the season.

The head coach told the Detroit Free Press: "We'll look at everything very hard, but he doesn't have mechanical problems.

"He's very creative as a quarterback, throws the ball from a lot of different angles, and in most ways, that is very, very helpful to us. And sometimes that's exactly what he needs to do in order to get it done."

Stafford passed the ball for almost 5,000 yards this season, but also threw 17 interceptions.
