Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew has revealed that he is happy to play a supporting role behind rookie Eric Ebron in the 2014 season.
The Lions selected Ebron 10th overall in this year's Draft, and the 21-year-old will likely go straight into the starting lineup for the new season ousting veteran Pettigrew.
The 29-year-old has admitted that he has no problem adjusting his role from a pass catcher to blocking for his side in the pass and run game.
"I can't call that [blocking more]," Pettigrew told the Detroit Free Press. "And whatever it is, I'm a team guy. You know that. Everybody here has the same goal. We're trying to win.
"You know what, it's different for everybody. We're moving around a lot. It's a lot to learn and we're still learning.
"I'll be anxious to see, as we get further into training camp, how all this works out. Overall, I think it's going to be a great thing."
Pettigrew recorded 41 receptions for 416 yards along with two touchdowns last season.
