Martin Mayhew "very confident" in Chris Houston

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew says that he is "very confident" in cornerback Chris Houston.

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew has insisted that he is "very confident" in Chris Houston.

The cornerback signed a five-year contract extension with the team last off-season, but his production dropped during the 2013 NFL season.

Mayhew told the Oakland Press: "I'm very confident in Chris. He's a veteran player, he knows how to play the game. We're confident in Chris's game."

Houston made a career-low 44 tackles in 2013.
