Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak has revealed that Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis will eventually start for his team, but it will not happen in pre-season.

The 33-year-old signed for the Broncos this week, but will not be used immediately after having little time to settle.

"That would not be very smart on my part," Kubiak said, according to ESPN.

"I am not going to do that. He might suit up, but he is not going to play. I can tell you that."

Mathis has been working out five days per week this off-season, and Kubiak insisted that he is not concerned about his game shape heading into the new campaign.
