Denver Broncos general manager John Elway has revealed that the organisation is still waiting for a definitive answer from quarterback Peyton Manning.
The veteran signal-caller has yet to make a decision on his future, but Elway insists that the Broncos want him to return.
"Let me say this, we're hopeful Peyton comes back and we want him back," Elway told reporters.
"As I said after the season, we wanted him back and we still want him back. You know, he's not given me a definitive answer, exactly what he wants to do, but we're hopeful he's gonna come back."
Elway refused to put a deadline on Manning's decision, but his comments did contradict a report last week that Manning had suggested that he would like to return in a face-to-face meeting.
