Denver Broncos' Wes Welker has no plans to retire

Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker insists that he is returning to play in the NFL for the 2015 season, refuting reports suggesting that he was ready to retire.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker has insisted that he has no plans to retire from the NFL.

The 33-year-old missed the first two games of the 2014 season due to being suspended for breaching the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

However, on his return to action Welker struggled to find his best form as he recorded one of the least productive seasons of his 12-year career.

"Just getting ready for 2015," Welker told The Denver Post.

When asked about reports that claimed that he was ready to retire, he added: "Never ever came out of my mouth."

Welker is expected to become a free agent when his contract with the Broncos expires in March.
