Omar Bolden surprised by position change

Denver Broncos' Omar Bolden says that he was surprised to move from cornerback to safety with the team.

Omar Bolden has revealed that he was surprised to be moved from cornerback to safety in the Denver Broncos' final game of the pre-season.

The 24-year-old found himself behind the likes of Champ Bailey and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the cornerback depth charts.

Bolden, who is preparing for his second season in the league, told the team's website: "I'm not going to lie, I was surprised. But I'm a football player and I want to be part of this team.

"I play corner, nickel, safety, so I'm all over in the secondary. I'm just trying to show them my value and do it the best that I can.

"I'm going to have to put in extra time in the film room to become a better player, and just study our defense a little bit more, because there's things that I'm not used to doing."

Bolden made 13 tackles during his first season in the NFL.
